PACIFIC POOLS
Pool Filtration & Heating
Pool Filtration and Sanitation

Whether you have a heritage pool with a limited plumbing loop, or a modern pool with in-floor cleaning needs…we have filtration components to complete a system for your pool.
Pool filtration and sanitation services include:
- New or replacement
- Automation
- Simple chlorination
- Ozone & more
If you have an existing system and wish to automate functions, we can offer various levels of automation & integration.
These include RF, wifi, and smart phone controls to anything like lighting, spa air jets, gas heaters, fountains etc.
We can automate everything from a new variable speed pump to a 20yr old manually controlled gas heater.
Offering both residential and commercial pool filtration packages and components. Specialising in compact and automated solutions.
Pool and Spa Heating

We supply and install swimming pool heat pumps and gas heaters from leading manufacturers.
We supply and install swimming pool heat pumps and gas heaters from leading manufacturers such as Madimack, Supreme heating, Rheem, Raypak, and Evoheat. We can advise on the necessary equipment to heat you pool to your target temperatures for your required swimming interval.
Pool & Spa Heating Options:
- Roof top solar heating (0°C – 29°C)
- Heat pumps (0°C – 30°C)
- Gas heating (31°C +)
We can install new or replacement heating options for your pool. Spa heating tends to use gas. Its Highly responsive, heating small volumes of water very rapidly.
Pool heating usually comprises of a roof top solar system or heat pump.
Roof Top
- Installed on your roof
- Uses the suns radiant heat We install a variety of systems depending on your roof style.
Heat Pump
- Installed on the ground
- Uses the ambient air and compressor
We principally install heat pumps from the Australian groups Madimack & Evoheat.
Please read the FAQ on heating at the bottom of this page for further info on heaters and their optimal install parameters / efficiencies.
Swimming Pool Automation

Did you know you can automate your pool?
Both newly installed or aged existing filtration equipment can be automated. Typical automation is web or RF based.
A master base station is installed along with many actuated valves to controls water flow, temperature probes, metering equipment and interfacing accessories depending on the systems intricacy.
Pool features that can be automated and operated remotely from a phone app or RF PDA include filtration and filter times, spa isolation, pump speeds, booster pumps, air blowers, lights, waterfalls, heaters on/off (gas, elec, or heat pump) and set target temperatures, options to schedule features on/off, and the relaying of info like current pool/spa temp etc.

What's the difference between an electric pool heater and a heat pump?
Electric pool heaters are like a large kettle. They draw electrical energy to heat the coil and this coil heats the pool water. A heat pump draws a little electrical energy that turns a compressor. The compressor moves refrigerant in a loop…when the gas is compressed it produces heat and this heats the pool water, via an exchanger. The cool resulting from the pressure reduction on the gas is then expelled, with a fan, blowing over the units evaporator. The loop begins again. A heat pump is like an air-conditioner for your pool.
What's the most efficient way to heat a pool?
The measure of a heaters efficiency is COP. The higher the COP the better. A heat pump is the most efficient with typical COPs of 5-6. Great for large volumes of water and extended swimming seasons (turn it on for 6 months). They build heat in the pool slowly (pool 14°C to 29°C in 2 days / spa 14°C to 38°C in 5 hrs), then they cycle down to maintain heat. A gas heater has a COP of 0.8 typically. Gas heaters are a good option rapid heat gain (pool 14°C to 29°C in 6 hrs / spa 14°C to 38°C in 30min). Gas heaters are usually used for small volumes of water, like a spa heated intermittently, just for the odd night here or there. You can efficiently use a heat pump on a spa but only if the spa is heated constantly (ie many days/months) and has a cover on when no-one is using it.
Can I link up my existing old pool equipment to a wireless automation system?
Usually yes, we are able to marry modern automation systems to old equipment like single speed pumps, old gas heaters etc.
